With this issue, we commemorate the 15th anniversary of A Primitive Place magazine! Our inaugural issue debuted in the fall of 2010, and nearly 300 homeowners have generously opened their doors to us since then. To celebrate this huge milestone, we are delighted to announce a grand celebration that will be held on Sunday, September 15th. The event will feature live country, gospel, and bluegrass music, complemented by an old-fashioned picnic and games, along with vendors offering antiques, primitives, vintage items, farmhouse decor, handmade goods, and unique flea market finds. This will be held on our rural farmstead along the beautiful Antelope Creek! You won’t want to miss this!

I have dedicated numerous hours contemplating if things have changed since 2010. I wondered, are individuals still collecting the same items? Is the interest in decorating in the primitive/colonial style as prevalent as it once was?

It appears that the enthusiasm for decorating in this style remains as strong today, if not more so than in the past. Notably, there is a growing interest and participation from the younger generation, enriching the industry and our primitive community.

What better occasion than our fall 15th anniversary edition to introduce a new segment called, "Antiques - A Thriving Industry." This feature will spotlight young entrepreneurs aged 40 and under in the antique industry, displaying the dynamic evolution within this sector. We are delighted to introduce you to some promising young entrepreneurs.

In this issue we have some of the most beautifully decorated primitive/colonial houses out there. Each home is unique, and each homeowner has his or her own story to tell. Our homeowner’s stories are weaved through their collections and in how they display them. Their homes are filled with love, dreams, and the tenacity to never give up. We trust that exploring each featured house in this publication will be a delight, offering insights into the art of collecting.

All of us at A Primitive Place hope that this issue will become one of your favorites and that you will flip through its pages, multiple times. We also hope that this autumn is one of the best for you and your family. We hope that you will spend some time reflecting on all that is important to you, and we hope that you will continue to take us with you on each adventure that you have. I express my deepest gratitude for your steadfast support and encouragement throughout our journey the past 15 years. Your unwavering backing is invaluable to me. Wishing you a beautiful and bountiful autumn ahead!
